NYC: Summertime faculty lecture featuring former Mayor Annise Parker

Thursday, June 21, 2018 06:00 PM - 08:30 PM

Grand Central Tech
335 Madison Ave.
New York, NY 10017

Join Annise Parker '78, Rice alumna and former Houston mayor, for an evening lecture as she presents "Notes from My Personal Journal as Mayor."

Every politician brings different skills, experiences and personality to the job. Through anecdotes she recorded in her journal from her years in office, Parker will bring attendees behind the curtain at city hall. And, as the first openly gay mayor of a major American city — as well as only the second woman to hold that office in Houston — Parker will share the comical and sometimes frustrating experiences of her time in office.

The evening will begin with light bites and beverages as Rice alumni, family and friends mix and mingle. The lecture will start promptly at 6:45 p.m., followed by a short Q&A session. Tickets are $15 for alumni and guests, and $10 for young alumni. Ticket prices will increase by $5 at the door.

Registration Deadline: Monday, June 18 at  11:55 p.m. (CDT)
