Traveling Owls on the Road: Denver

Thursday, June 14, 2018 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM

Schlessman Lobby, Denver Museum of Nature & Science
2001 Colorado Blvd.
Denver, CO 80205

Join Rice Alumni and Dr. Cin-Ty Lee to hear a story about how nature, through geology and biology, gives us the materials that drive the energy of our economies.  Come learn what volcanoes have to do with oil, lithium, dinosaur bones, and beautiful gems as you enjoy a variety of food, beer, wine and beverages.

Cin-Ty Lee is a Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Earth Science. He is a geologist, petrologist, and geochemist who investigates how our planet has evolved with time, from the deepest parts of the Earth’s mantle to the continental crust and to the atmosphere. He combines field mapping and sampling with sate of the art analytical tools and simple analytical and numerical modeling. Learn more about Cin-Ty.

Registration Deadline: Monday, June 11, 2018 11:55 p.m. (CST)
