2010 Rice Alumni Travel/Study
Program
Dear alumni and friends:
I am pleased to announce the 2010 Rice University Alumni Travel/Study Program. Our goal each year is to provide a variety of excursions that are educationally, culturally and socially enriching for all ages. To accomplish that goal, we must narrow our choices from an array of stimulating destinations. It is our hope that one or several of the trips we have selected for next year will entice you to join us.
Our offerings for 2010 include South America, Iceland, Scandinavia, Tanzania and Tuscany. We also will cruise the River Seine, retrace the journey of Aeneas and offer three interconnected private jet trips. Some of our destinations include unusual opportunities, such as an in-depth tour of Turkey, where our travelers will cruise the Turkish coast in a gulet; a family trip to Costa Rica that will include time for volunteer work; and an itinerary that offers an opportunity for physicians to earn Continuing Medical Education credits.
Thus far, two members of Rice’s faculty will be traveling with our groups: Dean Paula Sanders will join our Egypt trip, and Professor John Boles will once again travel to Montana and Idaho for a repeat of the popular Lewis and Clark journey.
Please take a few minutes to look through the brochure. I believe you will agree that our diverse program offers trips of great value as well as once-in-a-lifetime adventures. I urge you to complete the online
interest form after reading about the trips we have
planned for next year so you are assured of receiving
more detailed information on those that interest you
as soon as it is available.
If you have not yet participated in a Rice-sponsored trip, I hope that you will consider joining us. If you are a past traveler, we look forward to seeing you again in 2010.
Sincerely,
Rose
