The Austin Chapter of REA has organized a group day to volunteer building houses for Habitat for Humanity. It's an organization that builds and repairs affordable housing in partnership with low-income families. Austin Habitat has been building homes since 1985 and you can learn more about their efforts at austinhabitat.org. Several of us have volunteered with Austin Habitat before and it's a lot of fun!
Our goal is a team of 20 volunteers. Bring your spouses/significant others, children (16 years and over accompanied by parent or guardian 21 or over). Lunch and t-shirts will be provided. After the event, we will gather for dinner and libations at a nearby restaurant.
