Dear Prospective Member:

SOLAR is a membership-based organization. Please send in your dues payment and support SOLAR in its endeavors. Your dues help fund the scholarships and provide a quality and diverse program of activities throughout the year. Participating in alumni activities is a selfless way to give back to the community and campus, and you have a chance to reconnect with fellow alumni. Join us and be a part of the excitement and tradition SOLAR is creating.

Dues are payable annually on or about September 1 of every year. Membership from the prior year shall be valid for up to 90 days after September 1. SOLAR does not pro-rate membership dues, but all membership applications received in the 90 days prior to September 1 shall be automatically treated as valid members for the next membership year. All Latino alumni of Rice are encouraged to become members, regardless of dues.

SOLAR is a separate, nonprofit organization. While its membership is comprised of alumni of Rice University, donations to SOLAR are neither counted as a donation to nor managed by the university.

JOIN THE SOLAR BOARD!
If you are interested in serving on the SOLAR board of directors, contact Thomas Gonzales by Friday, October 26, 2007. You must be a member of SOLAR to serve on the board. Elections will be held during the Homecoming reception on November 2.
