80 Years of Celebrating Rice Excellence

Since 1937, the Laureates Awards program has recognized highly distinguished individuals who represent the very best of Rice University. The first Laureates Awards ceremony honored William Marsh Rice Jr., nephew of the university’s founder and longtime Board of Trustees member, for his years of service to Rice. On May 13, the Rice community gathered at the River Oaks Country Club to celebrate the 2017 Laureates, a remarkable group who demonstrate what it truly means to be a Rice Owl: bold, curious, hardworking and passionate. Click below to learn more about the 2017 Laureates.

Help continue the tradition and submit your nominations for the 81st annual Laureates Awards by Sept. 29, 2017.
