A Message from Association of Rice Alumni President Shannon Vale '77 (March 2017)

As president of the Association of Rice Alumni, it is my privilege to reach out to you on behalf of the university to tell you about an important opportunity to help shape the future of Rice.

As you may recall, 12 years ago, the Rice community began a series of conversations that culminated in the Vision for the Second Century (V2C), a strategic plan that deeply influenced Rice’s ongoing quest to serve as one of the world’s leading universities without compromising our core values. Now, President David W. Leebron is inviting the Rice community to help shape the university’s newest chapter: the Vision for the Second Century, part two (V2C2).

Please lend your voice to this conversation by participating in the online V2C2 survey. (Many thanks if you have already responded!) As Rice alumni, we play a vital role in supporting our university’s advancement, and our diverse experiences, areas of expertise and perspectives will help inform Rice’s decision-making over the next decade.

The survey — which will remain open through Sunday, March 19, 2017 — includes 11 questions, and you may answer as many or as few as you like. To access the survey, visit v2c2.rice.edu, click the “Share Your Ideas” button in the alumni box on the homepage, and log in using your Facebook account or by creating a custom account specifically for the V2C2 website. You can save your responses and return to complete the survey at any time before the March 19 deadline.

Please take a few minutes to contribute your thoughts on how Rice can maintain its values, commitment to excellence and unique personality, while adapting to an increasingly challenging environment. Thank you for participating in this important endeavor.
