Supporting Students

Provide programs
that engage alumni in the university.s essential
mission: educating students from pre-admission through
commencement. |

Establish
and manage programs for and with students to develop
their affinity to the ARA. |

Assist students
in recognizing the beginning of a lifelong relationship
with Rice. |
I.
Enhance awareness of the ARA and the Rice legacy
for prospective, new, and continuing students through
programs and events appropriately designed for this
audience. Expand the network of graduating students
interested in joining the ARA by enhancing their
affinity to the association and the university. |

A. Research
the undergraduate and graduate admissions process
to determine if ARA programs can
enhance connections between pre-admitted students
and alumni. |

1. Work
with undergraduate admissions in continuing
to strengthen the alumni and student experience
with Rice Alumni Volunteer Association (RAVA). |

B. Represent
the alumni message in programming from orientation
through graduation. |
| |
C. Expand
and strengthen the Student-Alumni Liaison Committee
to encompass building student affinity to
the ARA and identifying the ARA.s next group of
volunteers. |

1. Expand
alumni mentoring programs for undergraduate
and graduate students.
2. Explore and implement new technology that
can assist in providing programming to increase
student
affinity to the ARA.
3. Work with the Student Association, student
groups, and the residential colleges to create
student
affinity to the ARA before students leave
Rice.
4. Work with the Graduate Student Association
and graduate apartments to determine how ARA
programming might enhance the graduate student
experience and to develop a graduate-student
affinity
to the ARA before students leave Rice. |
