Community Involvement Center

The CIC seeks to establish a culture of service and an ethic of social responsibility within the Rice community by developing one-time and ongoing service programs, advising student service organizations, and serving as a resource for students, faculty, and staff interested in community service and service-learning. Although primarily oriented toward current students, the CIC does provide some opportunity for Rice alumni to be of service to the greater Houston community.

Praying Rice Owls

The Praying Rice Owls are Christian students, faculty, staff, and alumni who support the university and the various Christian ministries at Rice through their prayers and their volunteer service. We serve as a clearinghouse for receiving and distributing prayer requests and for matching ministry resources with ministry needs. Volunteers can help with:
	producing and mailing prayer request letters that go out periodically;
	food preparation and set up at the annual Homecoming Prayer Breakfast and at a dinner event in the spring;
	special projects of the Christian student groups;
	prayer.
