Volunteer Opportunities

Rice is looking for proud Owls to reach out to fellow alumni to raise awareness, get feedback and encourage strong participation for all Homecoming & Reunion activities. Volunteer opportunities include serving as a Homecoming & Reunion ambassador or, if you’re in a reunion year, encouraging classmates to contribute to your reunion giving campaign.

Homecoming & Reunion Co-Chairs

#OnlyAtRice: During my freshman year, Brown College’s beloved “Chef Roger” was named Homecoming King after only a couple of months preparing meals at Rice, such was the state of college dining before his arrival. On the other hand, the campus demonstrated its disapproval of RUPD Officer 220, the prolific parking ticket issuer, rather cheekily by naming him Homecoming Queen. Only at Rice would this be your reigning Homecoming couple.

— Kevin Bailey ’04

#OnlyAtRice: My love for the trees on and around campus was no secret. Late one night, some friends sneaked out to the rugby field and surreptitiously planted a tree for my birthday. Over the years — and especially when I return for Homecoming — I’ve watched “my” tree become part of the campus. Students shaping the campus...literally. Only at Rice.
