Rice Alumni in Natural Sciences (RAINS) aims to build a vibrant, multigenerational alumni community for the Wiess School of Natural Sciences. The group fosters connections among alumni and with the university, offers engaging programming and creates meaningful opportunities for alumni to support students, faculty, departments and initiatives within the school.

Engage with RAINS
RAINS volunteers serve on committees to promote and host annual events. RAINS administers the Natural Sciences Alumni Awards and hosts the annual Alumni Awards Dinner during Rice’s Alumni Weekend each fall. It also hosts the annual Fourth of July BBQ and Fireworks Viewing Party, launched in 2021 and held on the Rice campus. In addition, RAINS facilitates engagement with current students and fellow alumni and helps support special events such as Science Salons featuring speakers from the Wiess School of Natural Sciences.
