Executive Biography: Carlin Cherry '19 is a senior technical product manager at GitHub where she focuses on AI and supply chain security. A philosophy and economics double major with a business minor, Carlin has remained engaged with the university community through conducting alumni admissions interviews, hosting externships for Rice students at GitHub, serving on her class's five-year giving committee and attending homecoming and Beer Bike.
What part of serving on the ARA Board are you most excited about?: I'm excited to bring a recent grad perspective to the ARA (I'll flatter myself by saying seven years out still qualifies!) with a strategic focus on scaling alumni engagement across professional affinities and geographies.
What is your favorite “Only at Rice” memory or story?: It's impossible to pick one “Only at Rice” story or memory, but my favorite aspect of Rice is definitely the people. Rice students, graduates, and staff are smart, supportive, and kind, and that holds true whether you're a student or an alumni.
If you could give one piece of advice to Rice students, what would it be?: Use your network! Rice alums want to help other Rice students and alums.
