Kay Rodriguez '15

While at Rice in 2012, Kay Rodriguez ’15 started her first travel blog thekaydays.com. According to her blog, she started it “to help college students travel with small budgets.” She utilized her breaks from college to travel to 12 countries.

After graduation, Rodriguez joined a management consulting firm. She later decided to shift careers to work at National Geographic Digital. This job gave Rodriguez the push she needed to pursue her passion of travel. She decided to leave National Geographic and become her own boss as the “explorer-in-chief” of Jetfarer.com.

Rodriguez has visited 50 countries including: Iran, Slovenia, Georgia and the post-soviet republics of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Rodriguez is making a name for herself in the travel industry. Her work has been featured in USA Today, National Geographic and the New York Times.
