- What part of serving on the ARA board are you most excited about?
-
I am excited about being able to help move forward the goals and priorities of the ARA Board, while helping to strengthen the connection and engagement with Alumni.
- What is your favorite "Only at Rice" story or memory?
-
One favorite Rice memory is helping pull together the first ever Black Student Association (BSA) "Soul Night" in a week's time! It was in March 1998 and the theme was a "Celebration of Black History through Movement." The support that we received from the Rice community was phenomenal. From the choreography, singers and food donation - it was truly a group effort that made the night a success. It was a very proud moment for everyone involved.
- If you could give one piece of advice to Rice students, what would it be?
-
You are receiving a valuable, well-rounded education, but make sure that you are taking time out to enjoy your time at Rice outside of studying - clubs, volunteering, intramural sports, etc. It is important to be involved in the Rice community while you are still a student. The time goes by very fast!
