A Message from the Honorary Chairs
Dear Friend of Rice:
We trust and hope all remains as well as feasible. The Society of Latino Alumni of Rice invites you to the historic Raíces a Ramas: Cincuenta Años Gala on Saturday, November 5 at River Oaks Country Club. We will celebrate 50 years since the establishment of the Rice Association of Mexican American Students (RAMAS) and envision with fervor the next five decades.
Our keynote speaker will be Oscar-nominated composer and Shepherd School alumna, Germaine Franco ’84. Germaine’s message of developing your craft, relying on your community for support, and opening the door for others will be momentous during this special time in our university’s history.
We would be honored to have your presence, participation, and commitment as an individual underwriter or table sponsor. With your gift to the Raíces a Ramas: Cincuenta Años Gala, we will continue to champion the next generation of outstanding Rice community leaders and celebrate our common vision for the next 50 years by establishing an endowment to finance Latinx and Hispanic cultural enrichment and leadership at Rice.
Seating is limited so we advise you to secure your reservation at your earliest convenience by October 10, 2022. If you regretfully cannot attend the event but would like to fund the Raíces a Ramas Endowment, please make your gift by visiting riceconnect.rice.edu/solar-endowment.
Here’s to our relentless championship of inclusiveness, diversity and excellence at Rice, no doubt from Raíces a Ramas — Roots to Branches. Continued success with all endeavors, all for Rice’s honor.
Our best,
Sofia Adrogué ’88 Honorary Chair |
David D. Medina ’83 Honorary Co-Chair |
