Priority to Glasscock School's Masters of Liberal Studies alumni.
Europe of old – and new – springs to life on this relaxed 12-day tour through cities rich with art and architecture, vibrant street life, storied surroundings, and prized UNESCO sites. Your small group, limited to 24 travelers, journeys from canal-laced Amsterdam and picturesque Bruges to cosmopolitan Brussels and romantic Paris in a moveable feast of culture, cuisine, and comfort. First is a three-night discovery of charming Amsterdam, with highlights like the Royal Palace and a half-day tour of Keukenhof’s dazzling gardens. When traveling to Kinderdijk, you will see the Netherlands’ iconic windmills, a UNESCO site. Then, continue on to Bruges for three nights in Belgium’s medieval gem, known for its fine chocolate and enchanting canals. A visit to a chocolatier and a leisurely private canal cruise are highlighted here, along with leisure time. Exploration of vibrant Ghent includes its historic center – another UNESCO site – and St. Bavo’s Cathedral’s priceless artworks. En route to Luxembourg, visit Bastogne’s poignant Mardasson Memorial and War Museum commemorating the Battle of the Bulge. With two nights in beautiful Luxembourg City, tour the moving American Cemetery. Stopping in Reims, France, see the celebrated Notre-Dame de Reims cathedral, then sample the Champagne region’s prized bubbly in an Épernay champagne house. The European sojourn’s fitting finale is a two-night stay in Paris, with touring and leisure time in the “City of Light.” Savor more time to explore Paris independently with an optional 3-day/2-night post-tour extension.
