RAM Awards and Pinning Ceremony
Since its founding in 2013, Rice Alumni in Medicine (RAM) has celebrated students entering the health profession following their time at Rice. In 2016, the RAM Pinning Ceremony was established to formally recognize graduating pre-medical and pre-health students and celebrate their accomplishments. It is an occasion to welcome them as members of the Rice medical alumni community.
Giving each student the caduceus pin with the university logo symbolizes the welcoming of these students into a career of service and healing, for both individual patients and for populations at large. Our profession is a noble one that requires dedication, stamina, and compassion, traits that everyone listed here has demonstrated during their time at Rice.
This event is hosted annually on the Thursday prior to commencement. Since it is not possible to hold a public convocation for the class of 2020, RAM would like to present this website to the students, their families, and the university at large as our way of honoring our graduates and to instill in them the values of medicine that everyone in RAM holds dear.
To the Rice University Class of 2020 and other recently graduated students, we say welcome.
